Women in the World returned to the U.K. for its second London Forum of the year, presented in partnership with Edelman, on November 17, 2016. Amid the shocking results of the 2016 U.S. election, this year’s Brexit vote and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Women in the World founder and CEO Tina Brown and her assembly of panelists examined how women can come together in such divisive times and deconstructed how Donald Trump pulled off his shocking election upset. Speakers included MSNBC host and author Joy-Ann Reid, former longtime U.S. congresswoman from California Jane Harman, and journalist Zainab Salbi. Bushra Awad, a Palestinian, and Robi Damelin, and Israeli, came to the stage to talk about their heartbreaking stories — and the unlikely bond the two forged after each of their sons were killed in the Gaza war of 2014. And Tina Brown led a one-on-one discussion with Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party politician Ruth Davidson, who was name 2016 Scottish Politician of the Year.
