Twitter goes nuts over Kristen Stewart in the new trailer for ‘Charlie’s Angels’

By WITW Staff on June 28, 2019

The first trailer for the film Charlie’s Angels hit the Internet this week, with Twitter erupting in applause for star Kristen Stewart.

Stewart joins Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as a trio of badass, glamorous, crime-fighting “Angels” in the latest reboot of the 1970s TV series. The trailer also features a new song by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey, USA Today reports.

Elizabeth Banks directed the film and also stars as Bosley, the go-between for the Angels and their employer at the Townsend Agency, Charlie. But she’s not the only Bosley, reports Yahoo. Patrick Stewart, Djimon Hounsou, and Sam Claflin are also Bosley overseeing different crews of Angels.

Much of the buzz on social media is focused on Stewart, Yahoo reports, as she displays her moves in the opening scenes of the trailer, vanquishing a bad guy while wearing a glittery dress, before casting off her long blond wig to reveal short, spiky hair.

The film, which will be released on November 15, marks the first blockbuster Stewart has made since coming out two years ago, Yahoo reports, noting that many on social media are hoping that her character in the film turns out to be gay as well.
