Grammy Award-winning singer Céline Dion is launching a new line of gender-neutral children’s clothing that she hopes will “encourage a dialogue of equality and possibility.” The CELINUNUNU collection, which was created in conjunction with unisex boutique brand NUNUNU, will feature more than 70 styles for children ages 0 to 14 years. Dion announced the release of the line on Tuesday on Twitter, writing that she had “always loved nununu and what they represent.” The singer also shared an ad, starring herself, that promoted the new line by showing her breaking into a nursery at a hospital before magically replacing the sleeping infants outfits with new gender-neutral fashions.
“We miss the past. They dream of tomorrow,” Dion declares in the advert. “We may thrust them forward into the future, but the course will always be theirs to choose.”

Speaking with HLN on Wednesday, Dion said that she personally tried to avoid forcing gender stereotypes onto her own children because she felt it would limit them from pursuing their natural interests. When she visited Disney World with her three sons, she recalled, she was surprised when instead of seeking out “the big superheroes” the opted to spend time with the princesses instead.
“They all wanted to be Minnie Mouse,” said Dion. “I end up saying to myself, ‘You know what, it’s OK.’ You know why it’s OK? Because they’re talking, they’re finding themselves.”
“The message I’m trying to get across is you raise your children the way you want to raise your children,” she continued. “You have to decide what’s right for them. We’re just proposing another way to take away the stereotype.”
