A series of explosive devices and suspicious packages were sent to a number of high-profile Democrats on Wednesday, including to the New York home of Hillary and Bill Clinton. The Secret Service intercepted an explosive device addressed to former President Barack Obama at his Washington D.C. office, and CNN’s New York City offices at the Time Warner Center were evacuated and a bomb squad removed an explosive device sent to the network.

Hillary Clinton was far from her home in Chappaqua, New York, and on the campaign trail stumping for Florida gubernatorial candidate and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and other Democrats running in office on Wednesday. While speaking at a fundraising event in Coral Gables, Clinton addressed the rash of bombs that turned up over the last two days, including at the New York residence of billionaire George Soros, the Manhattan office of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, which received a suspicious package, and a suspicious package that was sent to former Attorney General Eric Holder, but was ultimately sent back to the return address.

Clinton began by thanking the Secret Service for the brave and diligent work to stop the package before it reached her home. “We are fine, thanks to the men and women of the Secret Service who intercepted the package addressed to us long before it made its way to our home,” she said.

She then discussed the heightened political tensions and divisions roiling the nation. “It is a troubling time, isn’t it?” Clinton said. “And it’s a time of deep divisions and we have to do everything we can to bring our country together. We also have to elect candidates who will try to do the same. Who will set goals that will lift up every single Floridian and American.

The office of U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida also received an explosive device on Monday and Capitol police intercepted a suspicious package addressed to Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California. The device sent to CNN was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, who now works as an analyst for the network. The Secret Service said that the Clintons and Obamas were never in any danger of receiving the bombs, and investigators added that so far all of the explosives, crude pipe bombs, including the one sent to Soros’ home on Monday, are linked.
