The last time outspoken Girls creator Lena Dunham played a game of “Plead the Fifth” with comedian Andy Cohen, she told him that she would move to Canada if Donald Trump won the presidential election. Dunham, of course, has not moved — a reality that she says her critics gleefully throw into her face at every possible opportunity. Appearing on the late-night host’s Watch What Happens Live, Dunham again played “Plead the Fifth” — a game that entails being asked three questions and having the choice of not answering one of them — and was asked to name who she considered to be Hollywood’s biggest misogynist.
“This is such a roughie because there are so many,” said Dunham, hedging. “OK, let’s hand this award to — I’m trying to think honestly of someone who said something hideous about my body … So this isn’t a person who has a ton of power, but the small amount he has I feel he has used for ill — and that is Daniel Tosh. He said a really unkind thing about my breasts, but he said it in a context in which I felt he was shutting down a lot of women for having bodies he didn’t consider to be normative.”
Tosh, a comedian and host of the Comedy Central internet video show Tosh.0, had mocked Dunham’s body in 2012. “The only thing that will burn your eyes worse is watching that chick get naked on Girls,” he said, pointing to a topless picture of the Girls creator with her breasts blacked out.
“He’s sort of like a dumb one to mention,” Dunham added. “He can’t do anything, because he’s just some herb.”
On a lighter note, Dunham was also asked to dish on which of Taylor Swift’s boyfriends she disliked the most.
“Calvin Harris,” she said without hesitation. “Because he was petty in public and didn’t need to do that.”
