President Donald Trump lashed out against his former White House aide and longtime ally Omarosa Manigault Newman on Tuesday, decrying her as a “dog” and “crazed, crying lowlife.” Manigault Newman, whose connection with Trump extends back to their days on The Apprentice, has been speaking out in recent days about hearing an alleged tape of the real estate mogul saying the N-word during filming for the NBC reality show. She further alleged that Trump forced White House staffers to sign non-disclosure agreements barring them from speaking negatively about Trump, his family, or his organizations, and that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly had threatened to ruin her reputation if she didn’t resign her post — claims that were bolstered by a tape she secretly recorded of her conversation with Kelly as well as Trump’s own twitter outburst declaring that “Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!

Trump, evidently upset by his former ally’s revelations, began unleashing a Twitter storm attacking her on Monday — and in his attacks he resorted to the type of gendered and racially-charged language that has become a hallmark for him. He railed against her as “nasty” and “vicious, but not smart,” and further suggested that the sole reason he kept her on his staff at all was “because she only said GREAT things about me.”

In an appearance on CBS This Morning on Tuesday, Manigault Newman released an audio recording that appeared to show Trump campaign staff — including former Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson — talking about the alleged recording of Trump saying the N-word. Pierson and Trump have both denied that the tape exists. Manigault Newman also accused Trump of being a misogynist and a racist, pointing out that he had a particular penchant for attacking the intelligence of people of color.

“I think it’s sad that with all the things that’s going on in the country that he would take time out to insult me and to insult my intelligence,” she told CBS. “This is his pattern with African-Americans.” Later on Tuesday, reports emerged that the Trump administration had taken legal action against Manigault Newman for breaching a non-disclosure agreement.

Watch Omarosa’s interview with CBS below. At one point, the interview takes an uncomfortable turn when Gayle King questions Manigault Newman about whether she and Trump ever engaged in a romantic relationship.
