Bechet Dumaine Allen, the daughter of Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, has penned a short Facebook message in support of her father. The famed director has faced renewed scrutiny in recent months over allegations that he sexually abused one of his other adopted daughters, Dylan Farrow, when she was a child.

“I never wanted to involve myself in the social media debates involving my father, but there comes a point when I realize that I can either continue pretending that none of this is going on, or stand up for him,” Bechet Allen writes in the post. “He has been nothing but supportive and loving, and now it is my turn to support him.”

The 19-year-old also linked to a lengthy a blog post by Moses Farrow, her uncle and Allen’s adopted son. In the post, Moses Farrow claims that the allegations against Allen are false, and that Dylan was brainwashed by their adopted mother, Mia Farrow, into believing that Allen abused her. Bechet thanked him “for sharing his personal experiences so that people may begin to learn the truth about our family.”

Dylan, who recently spoke about Allen’s alleged abuse on camera for the first time, has long maintained that her father sexually assaulted her when she was 7 years old. Her older brother, Ronan, who has done essential reporting on sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, has spoken out in support of his sister. He called Moses efforts to discredit her a “smear campaign.”
