The first-ever Women in the World Canada Summit took place Monday at the distinguished Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. The event featured a host of esteemed speakers including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Angelina Jolie, gender equality advocate Sophie Grégoire Trudeau will also join a panel discussion on the objectification of women in media and advertising moderated by CBC’s The National anchor Wendy Mesley, Zainab Salbi, Kara Swisher, executive editor at Recode, civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom; and Tamika D. Mallory, who was one of the leaders of the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., along with many more.
