The bodies of supermodels — like the bodies of all women, really — are often placed under absurd scrutiny. Take, as an example that succinctly captures the absurdity of it all, Karlie Kloss, who recently revealed that she was “called both too fat and too thin by a casting agent on the same day.”
Kloss spoke to Joanna Coles, Hearst Chief content officer and former Cosmopolitan editor, during a Cannes Lions conversation, according to Page Six. The crowd gave Kloss a standing ovation when she said that she is able to survive in the industry by focusing on her health, not on her weight. “I don’t want to please anyone but myself,” she said.
Kloss also opened up about Kode with Klossy, her coding camp for young girls. It is a very different scene from the high fashion circles she frequents, but Kloss said that she is “so passionate about it, and it is genuine.”
