The internet is quickly losing its mind over the recent announcement that popular feminist YouTube personality Laci Green and equally popular — if not wildly antithetical — anti-social justice YouTuber, Chris Ray Gun, are dating. The pendulum of responses across social media has swung wildly with many of Green’s former supporters going so far as to insinuate that she is a traitor to marginalized people everywhere.

While rumors of the highly polarizing romantic affair have been circulating since last month, many have taken the news as an almost personal affront. Among those voicing their disapproval is activist Zinnia Jones, who seems to be pushing for an online campaign to sabotage the relationship and implying that “getting laid” is more important to Green than her feminist work.
This tweet is actually expressing my hope that they double down and totally discredit themselves. Go for it, kiddos https://t.co/zr7B37Wkmw

While the majority of responses seem to be mostly negative, several online users have expressed confusion over the contradictory message that fellow online feminists and social justice advocates would attempt to control a woman’s dating choices. Despite the criticism, Green has remained overwhelmingly nonplussed in her responses to critics, steadfast in her decision to continue dating Gun.
my, how quickly some feminists who claim to be anti-harassment, anti pile-on, or anti sex-shame turn around and do just that. amazing.
