WATCH: Melania appears to deny Donald Trump a hand-hold for the 2nd day in row

May 23, 2017

A day after Melania Trump was seen swatting her husband’s hand away on the tarmac in Israel, which sent the internet into a frenzy, the first lady has, for the second day in a row, apparently shot down the president’s attempt at handholding in front of news cameras. The first couple had just landed at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport and, as they emerged from Air Force One, the Trumps paused to wave to the media, before descending down the staircase. As they began moving down the steps, President Trump reached for his wife and tried to grab her by the hand. Smooth as silk, Melania lifted her hand to avoid her husband’s and quickly brushed away her bangs, which were blowing in the wind. The president did not make a second attempt for a hand-hold as the two came down the staircase. This one was much more subtle than Monday’s rejection, but effective all the same. Not sure how the whole ‘make America great again’ thing is going for Don, but Melania is doing a tremendous job of making internet videos great again. Watch video of the incident below.
