President Donald Trump and first lady Melania have been traveling in the Middle East for the last few days, but perhaps aren’t having all that great a time together, a viral video clip suggests. After a stop in Saudi Arabia, the Trumps arrived in Israel on Monday and just after touching down, news cameras caught an uncomfortable exchange between the president and first lady. As the first couple walked on the tarmac at Ben Gurion International Airport in Lod near Tel Aviv alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara — who were holding hands — the president reached for Melania’s hand. She was lagging behind a bit. After he reached back a bit and got nothing, he made a second subtle reach for her hand. But no embrace was forthcoming. Instead, the first lady swiftly swatted his hand away and put some more physical distance between the two of them until they reached a group of dignitaries waiting to greet them.
It’s not the first time Melania has appeared to be unhappy with or uncomfortable alongside her husband since he won the presidency. And a recent report even suggested she was rooting for her husband to lose the election to Clinton because she just didn’t want the life that came with a win — a report she’s denied. Hmmm. Actions speak louder than words. Watch the video below of the exchange below. It happens at about the 14-second mark.
