Trump met with derision after saying women are crucial to making America great again

President Donald Trump is all about female empowerment … or so a recent video his staff posted on Twitter of an address he gave during the Women’s Empowerment Panel at the White House would have you believe. “Only by enlisting the full potential of women in our society,” the president said, can we “Make America Great Again.”

The Twitter post was, predictably, fast to attract a deluge of criticism online, as people made reference to the litany of misogynistic comments the president has previously made, and the fact he has appointed so few women to positions in his administration. Indeed, the video looks even more tone deaf as it appears juxtaposed beneath Trump’s Twitter banner — a photograph showing his less than diverse cabinet.
