Taylor Swift surprises 96-year-old fan with personal Christmas performance

A Missouri war veteran got the surprise of a lifetime the day after Christmas as his family gathered to celebrate the holiday. Pop sensation Taylor Swift showed up at the Christmas celebration to serenade one of her biggest fans, Cyrus Porter, a 96-year-old World War II vet. Earlier this month, Porter discussed having attended two Swift concerts and his admiration for the singer’s performance prowess in an interview with a local TV station. “Look what she does,” Porter told KFVS. “She puts on a show no one else puts on … I just liked the way she did stuff.”

Well, Swift really put on a show like he’d never seen before when she “crashed” Porter’s family Christmas party and snapped selfies with him. Then, she picked up an acoustic guitar and serenaded the war vet with her smash hit “Shake It Off.” Of course smartphones were rolling video and footage was uploaded to social media to document the one-of-a-kind experience.

“My Popo was ecstatic!” Caroline Fowler told E! News. “He was grinning from ear to ear and even had tears in his eyes.”

“Couldn’t have been any better,” Porter said of the surprise visit, according to KFVS. “You call it a Christmas treat I guess.” This isn’t the first time the singer has treated her fans to gifts on “Swiftmas,” but this certainly sets the bar at a new high.
