Anna Wintour apologizes for criticizing Donald Trump

Legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour, a noted Hillary Clinton supporter during the campaign, was recently overheard going on a rant against President-elect Donald Trump while riding a packed commuter train. Wintour reportedly said that “Trump’s foundation has done nothing,” as “its board is packed with relatives, and he’s going to use his presidency to sell himself and his brand and profit personally for himself and his family.” When contacted by British tabloid the Mirror about her remarks, she apologized and said that she immediately regretted her comments, adding, “I hope that President-elect Trump will be a successful president for us all.” Wintour, who at one point appears to have been friendly with Trump — she attended his 2005 wedding to Melania at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida — has recently been more critical of the president-elect. During a speech in Cannes, she appeared to take a shot at him when she said, “Politics is not traditionally a creative industry, but in America it’s currently being dominated by people with very active imaginations.”
