A small bright note: actress Emma Watson announced she will be leaving copies of Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom on the New York City subway. She revealed her plans on social media Wednesday, adding, “Then I am going to fight even harder for all the things I believe in.”

Last week, Watson was leaving copies of the same book on the London underground. Angelou’s novel is the latest pick for her feminist book club “Our Shared Shelf,” which she started as part of her U.N. Ambassadorship promoting gender equality around the world.

Keep an eye out, New Yorkers! We have a feeling some of you could use a little pick-me-up.
