Just when you thought Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s standing with women couldn’t get any worse, The Washington Post has detonated an absolute bombshell. On Friday afternoon, the news organization released audio that it obtained from 2005 that depicts Trump in conversation with then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush. The discussion was picked up by a hot mic while he and Bush were riding on a bus and Trump, with no idea anyone was listening or recording, really let loose, using numerous vulgarities to describe how he once tried to “f*ck” an unnamed married woman. Trump married his current wife, Melania, in January 2005.
The audio/video is below. Trump doesn’t actually appear on camera until about halfway through the clip and we want to warn you language he uses is vulgar and definitely not safe for work. In fact, it’s so bad, Trump, known for his aversion to apologies, actually issued one to The Washington Post when he was confronted with the footage. “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close,” Trump said in a statement to The Washington Post. “I apologize if anyone was offended.” The audio also does not cast Bush, who’s now a co-host on NBC Today show, in a good light.
