'We need an adult'

Michelle Obama eviscerates Donald Trump … without even mentioning his name

September 28, 2016

During an appearance at rally in Philadelphia for Hillary Clinton on Wednesday, first lady Michelle Obama took sharp aim at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. She never mentioned Trump by name during the fiery speech, but she came down hard on him for a number of reasons including his years of “birtherism,” during which he repeatedly questioned President Obama’s legitimacy to hold the nation’s highest office. “And let me say … hurtful, deceitful questions deliberately designed to undermine his presidency,” the first lady told Clinton supporters of Trump’s ongoing pursuit of the president’s birth certificate. “Questions that cannot be blamed on others or swept under the rug by an insincere sentence uttered at a press conference.”

She also blasted Trump’s temperament, suggesting his cavalier, reactionary approach was “erratic and threatening” and unfit for the job. “When making life-or-death, war-or-peace decisions, a president can’t just pop off or lash out irrationally. We need an adult in the White House. I guarantee you,” she told the audience.

The first lady made her first appearance stumping for Clinton earlier this month and polls find, not surprisingly, that she is Clinton’s most popular surrogate.
