Shirley Teter, a 69-year old protester was allegedly punched in the face by a Trump supporter during a North Carolina rally where she had been protesting the Republican presidential candidate. Teter says she has been protesting her entire life, telling local ABC news station WLOS: “Why did I get involved yesterday, at my age? Because I ran into another situation that was sickening my heart.”

When confronted with a Donald Trump supporter, she joked “You better learn to speak Russian. The first two words are going to be ‘ha ha.’” The man then stopped and turned around “and just cold-cocked me,” Teter says, causing her to fall on her oxygen tank and leaving her with sore ribs, a sore jaw and a cut in the elbow. “People need to know what state of agitation [Donald Trump] puts people in,” Teter told the Citizen Times. According to the local newspaper, she was taken to the hospital where she stayed until 2am. As police officers did not witness the assault, they were unable to arrest the suspect. A warrant was issued for 73-year-old Richard Campbell, of South Carolina, in connection with the attack.
