'Epic'

Malia Obama makes a statement with hand-lettered T-shirt at music festival

By WITW Staff on September 6, 2016

Following in her mom’s footsteps and promoting healthy values? Or throwing some subtle shade at the journalists who stirred up a little trouble for her earlier this summer, when she was caught on video, allegedly smoking, at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago? A bit of both, probably, when first daughter Malia Obama stepped out on the weekend in a hand-drawn ‘Smoking Kills’ T-shirt, paired with a Harvard cap and denim cut-offs, at the Made in America music festival in Philadelphia on Sunday. Either way, the statement was undeniable and the consensus, on social media at least, was that the 18-year-old was enjoying some “epic level clapback” while promoting a good cause.
