Manatee County Sheriff

An elderly Donald Trump supporter who was arguing with his wife over her support of Hillary Clinton allegedly threw her to the ground in a domestic incident that resulted in a felony charge. Lawrence Littman, 78, was arrested for battery on a person over 65 for fighting with his wife, Eliva Littman, age 73.

According to The Smoking Gun, Elvia called 911 after the incident and told sheriff’s deputies that her husband had “called her many derogatory names then grabbed her wrist and threw her on a chair in the bedroom.” She then fled to a bedroom on the other side of the house but Lawrence then “followed her, grabbed her by her arm again, and slung her to the ground,” causing her to hurt her butt when she hit the floor, she said.

Lawrence told police his wife had tried to slap him in the face during the political bout and so he “shoved her back” but she slipped and fell to the ground.

Littman pleaded not guilty and has been released on bond and told not to have contact with his wife. The couple has been married for 20 years. It’s the latest in a series of gendered incidents that have been reported among Trump supporters
