Cecile Richards: “I’m so sick of men telling us what do with our bodies”

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a contentious 2013 Texas abortion law that led to the shuttering of dozens of abortion clinics in that state. The ruling has potentially far ranging implications for how abortions are handled across the U.S.

In April, Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, spoke at length about the case and the challenges faced by Planned Parenthood during the past year — from the deadly shooting in Colorado to lawmakers’ efforts to shut down the organization completely. Through it all, Richards says Planned Parenthood has stuck to its motto: “Care no matter what.”
