Ainsley Turner, a 5-year-old girl from North Carolina, won the hearts of the entire internet when she decided to show up at Holly Springs School of Dance’s “Princess Day” casually dressed as … a hot dog. People couldn’t hide their admiration for the little heroine and started sharing photos of the event on social media, where the hot dog princess quickly went viral. “She loves princesses, but she wanted to be original and wear a hot dog costume instead,” Sarah Nativi, Ainsley’s teacher told BuzzFeed. “She wore a princess costume underneath it and said she was a princess on the inside!” Her proud dad, surprised to see his daughter trend on Twitter, tweeted that it was all her own idea, saying, “She just loves hot dogs!” On Saturday, the newfound internet celebrity was asked to open up her school’s spring recital, where she — of course — showed up in her favorite hot-dog gear. Grayson Lamontagne, another teacher at the school said she felt inspired by Ainsley’s confidence to wear whatever she wanted. “Her parents and I agree that it’s a great message for young girls and they are, as I can imagine, very proud of Ainsley,” she said.
