Trump says he’ll debate Sanders for $10m donation for “women’s health issues”

Hillary Clinton may have declined to debate Bernie Sanders ahead of California’s primary on June 7, but it appears Sanders might have found a new debate partner — Donald Trump. Trump was asked by comedian Jimmy Kimmel whether he would debate the Vermont Senator while on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday. “If I debated him we would have such high ratings,” said Trump. “Take that money and give it to some worthy charity.” Sanders swiftly expressed his own interest via Twitter, saying, “Game on.”

Trump gave another interview on Thursday in Bismarck, North Dakota, reiterating that he would do the debate “if we can raise for maybe women’s health issues or something, if we can raise $10 or $15 million for charity,” a prospect at which Sanders tweeted he was “delighted.”

Sanders appeared himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday. “If the democrats want the candidate who is most likely to defeat Trump, and beat him badly — I think you’re looking at the guy,” Sanders told Kimmel. If the debate does happen, Kimmel noted, “It might be one of the highest rated events in television history.”
