Parents of girls who attend an elementary school in Thailand rushed to the site on Monday, after 18 girls died in an overnight fire in their dormitory. “We are in the process of identifying bodies, none of the parents can claim their children’s bodies yet,” school manager Rewat Wassana told CNN.
Thirty-eight girls, aged between 5 and 12, were asleep in the dormitory at the Christian Pitakiatwittaya School in northern Thailand when the fire broke out. The school, which has been open for five years, is known for providing free education and accommodation to poor children from the local hill tribes.
