Hillary Clinton has already indicated that if she wins the Democratic nomination, as she’s expected to do, an all-women presidential ticket is a real possibility. As she inches closer to clinching the nomination, The Huffington Post reports she’s also inching closer to selecting a woman as a running mate. According to the report, Clinton insiders say the campaign is taking a close look at senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. Warren, notably, has yet to endorse Clinton, but her willingness to stand up to presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump this week in a bitter Twitter feud turned the heads of Clinton strategists. “You want a running mate who can take the fight to the other side with relish,” one unnamed source inside the Clinton camp told HuffPost reporters. “Geography does not matter, but attitude and talent and energy and bringing excitement to the campaign, Senator Warren does all that.” Of course, insiders say they see her willingness to take on the role of attack dog as only one aspect of the value she would bring to a presidential ticket — especially in 2016, as one pollster says he discovered.
