Calvin Klein upskirt photo on Instagram draws sharp criticism, debate

Calvin Klein is drawing intense criticism once again for its provocative #mycalvins ads, this time over an image posted to its Instagram account featuring an upskirt photo of a model with the caption “I flash in #mycalvins.”

The model, actress Klara Kristin, is wearing a thin dress and looking down at the camera as the camera looks up her dress. The Instagram image drew nearly 45,000 likes on the app, but also thousands of comments debating whether it was in good taste, with some calling it “sick” and “terrible.”

“Thank you for encouraging men to take under skirt pics, use your platform to uplift women,” one commenter said.

Earlier this year, the company posted two billboards with #mycalvins photos on them next to one another. One ad showed Kristin with the text, “I seduce in #mycalvins,” while the other showed rapper Fetty Wap with the caption, “I make money in #mycalvins.” The discrepancy led Heidi Zak, CEO of lingerie company ThirdLove, to start a petition calling on Calvin Klein to take down the ads, which the company did.
