The saga between Fox News star Megyn Kelly and Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took another turn on Wednesday. An “incognito” Kelly was spotted walking into Trump’s 5th Avenue skyscraper in New York City for an apparent secret summit. The doormen at the building, where Trump runs his company and also lives, were reportedly stunned when they saw Kelly stroll in. And the meeting made front page news on New York City’s most famous tabloid Thursday morning.

After all, there’s no shortage of baggage between the two. Just last week at opening night of the 7th Annual Women in the World Summit, Kelly spoke with Katie Couric about what she thinks was behind the wrath Trump has directed at her. She also told Couric the media were to blame for Trump’s unexpected rise. “When have you ever seen news stations take campaign events?” Kelly wondered. “We don’t do that for Hillary, we don’t do that for Bernie or Cruz, we never did it for Rubio or Scott Walker. Only one candidate. Then the media would sit there and say will say it’s amazing how the polls are up up up. It’s like — you’re putting your thumb on the scale.”
So what was Kelly talking with Trump about at their big meeting? Giving Trump more airtime — on network TV, in prime-time. “We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air,” Kelly told viewers during her Fox News show on Wednesday night. “Mr. Trump and I discussed the possibility of an interview, and I hope we will have news to announce on that soon.” According to some reports, that “Barbara Walters-style prime-time special” is coming on May 23.
