It’s not often in one’s lifetime when the opportunity to vote for oneself in a presidential election arises. For the average person, it’s never. Yet former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina found herself faced with that rarest of opportunities during the Virginia primary on March 1, Super Tuesday. She strode into the poll, saw her own name on the ballot — “it was kind of a thrill,” she recalled — and what did she do? She passed over herself and threw away her vote on Ted Cruz. OK, we kid, Carly! She didn’t waste her vote, obviously. Still, though she had a chance to not only vote for herself (even though she’s out of the race) — a tantalizing chance that would be difficult for any human to resist — she had a chance to vote for a woman! Watch below, she explains in a speech where she gives her official endorsement to Cruz, who’s currently second in delegates.

Fiorina praised Cruz for fighting for religious liberty and proving himself to be a “leader” and a “reformer.” She added, “The truth is that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two sides of the same coin,” taking a jab at the two frontrunners.
Just a month ago, a day after a seventh-place finish in the New Hampshire primary, Carly Fiorina dropped out of the race and had all but disappeared from the public eye. She re-emerged over the weekend by delivering the keynote speech at CPAC and started posting to social media again, where she resumed needling Hillary Clinton — a favorite pastime of hers when she was a candidate. Still, we can’t help but wonder if maybe Fiorina voted for herself, and is just saying she voted for Cruz as part of her endorsement spiel. No one would ever know.
