Despite her devastating knock-out loss to Holly Holm in UFC 193 last November, Ronda Rousey is continuing her streak as one of America’s most beloved celebrities and is set to host Saturday Night Live. On January 23, she will take the stage for the first time, along with Selena Gomez, who is also making her debut on the show. While she’s far from the first athlete to do so — legends as Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Derek Jeter have gone before her — she will be the first mixed martial arts fighter to host. She is also the first female athlete to host since 1994, when Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan had the honor. Rousey is no stranger to appearances in mainstream entertainment, with cameos in the movies Furious 7, Expendables 3 and Entourage.
