Study: Diversity programs perceived as threat by white men


Diversity programs do little to increase the representation of women and minorities in companies and may in fact decrease the representation of black women in the workplace. According to a new study of over 700 companies in the United States that use commonplace diversity programs, the effects benefit minorities very little and make white men feel as if they are being treated unfairly, Harvard Business Review explained.

A study conducted by HBR showed negative responses to pro-diversity messages among white men in mock job interview situations, such as elevated heart rate and poor interview performance.
