Conservative white women rank among the angriest segments of the voting population, according to a new poll released by NBC News and Esquire. Nearly 50 percent of all poll respondents said they felt angry about news headlines, but the number climbed to 58 percent for white women, compared to just 44 percent of non-white women.

The angriest demographic polled was Republicans, 61 percent of whom said the news made them angrier over the past year, while only 42 percent of Democrats felt that way. Three-quarters of Republicans said they get angry at least once a day over current events.

Women were particularly angry about police violence against unarmed blacks and campaign finance abuse. Men, on the other hand, were more likely to be angry about gay marriage and global warming.
