Famous people do read the comments on their Facebook posts, people! Mark Zuckerberg, the multi-billionaire CEO of Facebook, just proved that they do when he responded to one of the more than 28,000 comments left under a message he posted on Sunday about a challenge he’s set for himself in 2016. Darlene Hackemer Loretto, a grandmother who, according to her check-ins on Facebook, appears to live in the Buffalo area, got Zuckerberg’s attention on Sunday with her response to his post. “I keep telling my grand daughters to Date the nerd in school, he may turn out to be a Mark Zuckerberg!” Loretto wrote, adding her thanks to Zuckerberg for creating Facebook, which has allowed her to reconnect with many people in her life. Within an hour, the Facebook CEO and new dad, responded. “Even better would be to encourage them to ‘be’ the nerd in their school so they can be the next successful inventor!” Zuckerberg advised. Both of their comments racked up thousands of likes, and a stunned Loretto posted about the experience and her initial remark in a follow-up Facebook post. “I do encourage them to do well, I’ve done everything in my life MYSELF, my children’s dad died at a very young age and I did it all. Starting 2 businesses,” she wrote. “I said it once to them in jest and NEVER did I think anyone would even see this, let alone get the attention it has gotten.” Pretty cool all around.
