Amal Clooney Scholarship founded for Lebanese women to learn abroad


International human rights lawyer Amal Clooney announced this week that she has launched a scholarship program in partnership with the non-profit 100 Lives to benefit Lebanese women by offering them an experience to study abroad. The Amal Clooney Scholarship will send one woman in Lebanon to the United World College (UWC) in Dilijan, Armenia, for a two-year baccalaureate program that its founder calls “the opportunity of a lifetime.” The inaugural winner was Pamela Tebchrany, a student who speaks English, French and Arabic, who plans to use the scholarship to study women’s equality and human rights.
