What Republicans talk about when they talk about women

Women’s issues have not been the strong suit of any of the Republican debates so far and Tuesday night’s CNN outing was no exception. Since some early talk of pay parity, Planned Parenthood and the question (that fell very flat) of who might replace Andrew Jackson on the $10 bill, there’s been nothing to write home about. Mother Jones created a supercut leading up to the debate, to illustrate the candidates’ favored context for discussing women: as wives (who alternately yell or are “lovely” and “fantastic”), mothers, mothers’ mothers … You get the picture.
