Pamela Anderson will be the very last model to appear naked in Playboy, the magazine announced after revealing in October that it would no longer feature photos of naked women in its pages. The decision came as the once immensely popular magazine had seen its circulation drop to around 800,000 in recent years (compared to 5.6 million in its 1975 heyday), and believed those photos had become “outdated” due to the spread of free pornography on the Internet. The 48-year-old model and former Baywatch star has a long history with the magazine — she’s graced the cover 14 times over the last 26 years, more than any other celebrity. “I got a call from (Hugh Hefner’s) attorney, who said, ‘We don’t want anybody else. There’s nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?'” Anderson told Entertainment Tonight. She told the show that she checked with her 17-year-old and 19-year-old sons to get their blessing before agreeing to the shoot, as they had been “teased and made fun of, and had a few fistfights over their mom.” This time, though, her children encouraged her to do the shoot. Anderson will appear on the cover of the January-February 2016 edition, which will also feature an interview with her by James Franco.
