Alanis Morissette has been doing a bit of a media victory lap recently, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her iconic album Jagged Little Pill. Last week she visited Jimmy Fallon, whom she enlisted along with Meghan Trainor and Chris Tartaro to dress up as fluffy little chickens and perform a very silly “clucking” version of her biggest hit Ironic. But we very much prefer the version she performed at the Late Late Night Show, along with host James Corden, featuring them each in matching beanie, sweater and ponytail. The pair updated the lyrics of the sing-along classic to better fit the 2015 lifestyle, namechecking “swiping left on your future soulmate” or a “funny tweet that no one faves.” Best line in the song, however, was a not-so subtle dig at late night’s diversity problem, with Alanis singing, “It’s 10,000 male late-night hosts, when all you want is just one woman, seriously.”
