CCTV footage captured the moment a Palestinian woman pulled a knife on an Israeli security guard in the Beitar Illit settlement south of Jerusalem. According to the Jerusalem Post, the security guard had been instructed to approach the woman — who has since been identified as 22-year-old Halva Aliyan — because emergency dispatchers believed she looked suspicious; the country has been on high alert in the wake of a spate of stabbing attacks by Palestinians on Israeli civilians. The clip shows the security guard checking Aliyan’s identification. As he examines her card, she pulls a knife from her purse and slashes at him. The security guard was lightly injured in the attack. Aliyan was shot and wounded.
