Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she and Amy Schumer will play sisters in the film they are currently writing together, which will also see Schumer cast against her usual out-of-control comedic type. “Amy, in this movie, she has it very together,” Lawrence said in an interview promoting the next instalment in the Hunger Games franchise. “It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport,” adding “And I’m a MESS.”
The project came together in “cosmic” fashion, said Lawrence, after she saw Trainwreck and contacted Schumer: “I reached out and everything just happened so quickly. We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously, and aren’t afraid, which is a good and bad thing, because I don’t know what our movie will be rated. And we’re both very blunt. So we’ve gotten through a really strenuous process without ever fighting, because we’re both very straightforward.”
While the project is still in its scripting phase (with the two actresses currently writing the movie along with Amy Schumer’s sister and creative partner Kim Caramele), it has already become a “hot property” in Hollywood, thanks to the combined star-power of Oscar-winner Lawrence and Amy Schumer, fresh off the box-office success of “Trainwreck”.
