A new study has found that while women who identified as lesbian are much more attracted to the female form, women who say they are heterosexual are strongly aroused by images of both naked men and naked women. Dr. Gerulf Rieger, from the Department of Psychology at the University of Essex said, “Even though the majority of women identify as straight, our research clearly demonstrates that when it comes to what turns them on, they are either bisexual or gay, but never straight.”
The study was conducted with 345 women, whose responses to being shown videos of naked men and women were analyzed. Results were concluded from a variety of factors, including whether the subjects’ pupils dilated according to sexual stimuli. Of the women who identified as straight, 74 percent were strongly sexually aroused by both sexes. (In all, 82 percent of the women tested were aroused to some degree by both sexes.) Lesbians in the study showed a markedly stronger sexual response to women than men.
