Sandra Bullock is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, but the actress revealed in a recent Time profile that she has struggled to find satisfying movie roles. “I said, ‘I want to do what Jim Carrey’s doing,’” Bullock explained. “I was looking for something he didn’t want.” Yes, that’s right: the Oscar-nominated Sandra Bullock was so desperate for comedically-fulfilling parts that she was willing to take Jim Carrey’s cast offs. Bullock also commented on the recent backlash against the Hollywood pay gap, which has become the focus of intense criticism thanks to actors like Jennifer Lawrence. “Thank goodness Hollywood got a spanking,” Bullock said. “It’s hard because why should I complain? Very few people get to do what we get to do. I know as a woman in the business, the likelihood of me still working at my age was almost impossible, and yet here I am.”

Schumer was paid just $300,000 for her comedy Trainwreck, which went on to gross an unexpected $110 million dollars. Now that the comedian has proven herself to be a “bankable” star, she will earn between four and five million dollars for her next film project — a comedy with 50/50 director Jonathan Levine, in which Schumer plays a woman who is kidnapped during a trip to Brazil.
