Judge orders examination of Chinese actress’ face to determine its “authenticity”

Chinese actress Yeung Wing, known more commonly as Angelababy, has claimed for years that she’s never gone under the knife for cosmetic surgery. This week, she had to go to odd lengths to prove it. After a clinic claimed Angelababy had plastic surgery, the 26-year-old sued for defamation and was asked by a judge to undergo a series of tests to prove that her face is, in fact, presented in its original form. Medical professionals on Thursday evaluated Angelababy’s face at a plastic surgery hospital in Beijing, conducting tests that included X-rays, scans and having her face prodded by a doctor. The hospital’s chief of medicine announced later that day that Angelababy’s “entire head and facial bones do not have any signs of incisions.” The actress is seeking 500,000 yuan ($79,000) in compensation from Ruili, a Beijing-based clinic that in 2012 alleged online that she had plastic surgery.
