Seventeen-year-old first daughter Malia Obama is in the midst of the time-honored American rite of passage known as looking for a college to attend following high school graduation. Her dad has offered some advice, telling her, “not to stress too much about having to get into one particular college. Just because it’s not some brand-name, famous, fancy school doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get a great education there,” President Obama told his daughter, according to The New York Times. Still, Malia ended up visiting the fabled Brown University over the weekend and it caused students at the school to unleash a “campus-wide freak-out,” as Fusion put it. The freak-out was on full display in the form of numerous tweets by students fawning over eating “mac&cheese a mere 30 feet away from malia obama,” and “Standing next to Malia Obama at a party.” One detail that many of the students tweeting about their encounters with the first daughter was the heavy Secret Service presence that accompanied her everywhere. Just normal teenage life, no big deal.
