Presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina is already reaping the rewards after a much-discussed performance at last week’s GOP Debate. According to a new national ORC/CNN poll, she is now in a second place behind Donald Trump, at 15 percent – up three percent from early September. While Donald Trump still has a strong lead at 32 percent, that is an 8 percent decrease from a similar poll earlier this month. The CNN debate, seen by more than 23 million people, probably played a major role in these numbers: more than half of Republicans who watched it named Fiorina as the winner, while 31 percent indicated Trump as the loser. Fiorina scored major points in the debate when she told Trump that ”women all over this country heard very clearly” what he said when making sexist remarks about her appearance. A passionate plea against Planned Parenthood also earned her praise, even though her claims about the organization at the debate have since been widely debunked.
