The question of defunding Planned Parenthood came front and center again at last night’s GOP debate, with several of the candidates expressing their strong opposition to the group. Referring to the controversy over leaked videos, which allegedly show Planned Parenthood executives discussing using aborted fetuses for research, Carly Fiorina said: “Anyone who has watched this video tape, I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says ‘we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’” While her passionate but horrifying description was one of the most memorable moments of last night’s debate – it was not based in fact, as several media have pointed out. Fiorina also laid the smackdown on Donald Trump over his characterization of her in a recent Rolling Stone article, in which he equated her looks with her electability: “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.”
