‘The View’ hosts forced to respond to furious nurses

After incurring the wrath of Tweeters and Instagrammers on Tuesday with a misjudged commentary on the Miss America monologue by nurse Kelley Johnson, The View panelists Michelle Collins, Joy Behar, Raven-Symone Paula Faris and Whoopi Goldberg have addressed critics. Most of the anger on social media, which carried the hashtag #NursesUnite, and threats to boycott the program, was directed at Joy Behar, who questioned why Johnson was wearing “a doctor’s stethoscope”. I’m used to seeing them in gowns and bathing suits. It is not like I was trying to be funny. It was stupid and inattentive on my part.” Collins, who was more conciliatory, gave a shout-out to nurses, insisting the panel “love” and “adore” nurses and suggesting they deserve a raise.
