Ranger School now open full-time to women soldiers

Last month Capt. Kristen Griest, 26, military policy officer, and 1st Lt. Shaye Haver, 25, Apache helicopter pilot became the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army’s elite Ranger School. On the heels of their historic graduation, the Army has now announced that it will lift all restrictions and open the school to women on a permanent basis. General Mark A. Milley, the Army’s chief of staff said in an official statement that “giving every qualified soldier the opportunity to attend the Ranger Course, the Army’s premiere small unit leadership school, ensures we are maintaining our combat readiness today, tomorrow and for future generations.”
