WWE Hall of Famer charged in 1983 death of his girlfriend

Legendary WWE wrestler Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the beating death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, 32 years ago. Snuka, now 72, was arrested by authorities in New Jersey on Tuesday. Argentino was 23 at the time of her death. Prosecutors say Argentino died of a fractured skull after Snuka delivered a blow to her head at a Pennsylvania motor lodge back in 1983. Snuka is accused of waiting between 12 and 24 hours as Argentino suffered from her head and other bodily injuries, before slowly dying. At the time, Snuka, who was married with four children, claimed he discovered Argentino in grave condition upon arriving at the motel room. Months before Argentino died at the motor lodge, Snuka was arrested for alleged domestic abuse at a New York hotel. Argentino’s sister, Lorraine Salome, spoke out after the news of Snuka’s arrest broke, saying  Argentino “was such a great girl. She really didn’t deserve to die.” For decades, she had pressed authorities to pursue charges against the wrestler.
