White House releases PSA stressing importance of consent

Continuing its efforts to push back against rape and sexual assault on college campuses in the United States, the White House released an anti-rape PSA entitled “The One Thing” on Tuesday. The video message, released one year after the launch of the “It’s On Us” campaign, includes stars like Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Josh Hutcherson, who stress the importance of consent when engaging in sexual activity. The PSA comes a day before Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, is scheduled to speak at the National Sexual Assault Conference in Los Angeles. According the White House, almost 220,000 people have taken the “It’s On Us” pledge to end sexual assault on college campuses.
