11 black women ‘humiliated’ after being kicked off Napa Valley wine train tour


A book club of women known as Sisters on the Reading Edge was riding aboard a Napa Valley Wine Train tour when they were reportedly removed for laughing and talking too loudly. “It was humiliating. I’m really offended to be quite honest,” said 47-year-old Lisa Johnson, who said she and the other women are questioning whether they would have been removed if they were not African-American. The group recorded the incident, which left one woman feeling “singled out,” and shared it on social media — a move that quickly sparked the hashtag #LaughingWhileBlack.
